Getting there
The Peak at Mt Kanimbla is situated about 140 km (88 miles) from Sydney, a leisurely 2 hour drive. Conveniently located mid way between Katoomba (30 mins) and the Jenolan Caves (35 mins), The Peak is the perfect base for exploring the greater Blue Mountains attractions.
The direct route from Sydney
Follow the M4 motorway west out of Sydney and up into the Blue Mountains. Continue on the Great Western Highway past Leura, Katoomba, Blackheath and Mt Victoria.
The scenic route
If you prefer a more relaxed and scenic drive to the Mountains, follow the M2 motorway from Sydney. Follow signs through Windsor, Richmond and Kurrajong onto the historic Bells Line of Road. At Bell, turn left, follow the Darling Causeway to Mt Victoria and turn right onto the Great Western Highway.
The final stretch
From Mt Victoria follow the Great Western Highway as it winds down the notorious Victoria Pass into the lush Hartley Valley. Turn left onto the Coxs River Road (after the Farmhouse Café, before Hartley Realty) and follow this road for about 8 km, past the fire shed and into the breathtaking Kanimbla Valley. Turn left onto Kanimbla Drive, and then left again onto Megalong Place. The Peak at Mt Kanimbla is situated about 400 metres along this road on the left.
Please take particular care if approaching at dusk or in the evening as the area abounds with wallabies and kangaroos and there are no street nights. If you run into difficulties at any point on your journey, call us on 02 6355 2330 for assistance.
